BIO.NRW – The Home of Biotech

BIO.NRW – The Home of Biotech unterstützt durch eine Reihe von Maßnahmen gezielt den Bedarf von Life-Science-Unternehmen in NRW mit dem Zweck, eine nachhaltige Entwicklung dieser Schlüsseltechnologien in Nordrhein- Westfalen zu fördern. BIO.NRW initiiert und fördert Kooperationen zwischen Forschungseinrichtungen, Unternehmen, Investoren/Investorinnen und Politik auf Landesebene, national und international.

Die Aktivitäten von BIO.NRW streben danach, ein effektives Netzwerk für Unternehmen und Wissenschaftler/-innen zu schaffen, eine Veranstaltungsplattform für Life-Science-Themen zu bieten, Start-ups und KMUs zu unterstützen, den Technologietransfer zu stärken sowie Ansprechpartner für den wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchs zu sein. Über jährlich aktualisierte Daten wird die Entwicklung des Biotech-Standortes NRW erfasst und gefördert. Präsenz auf nationalen/internationalen Messen und passende PR verstärken das Standortmarketing.

Etablierte Veranstaltungsformate wie z. B. die BIO.NRW.red-Plattformtreffen, Informationsveranstaltungen zu Fördermitteln, der Business-Angel-Kongress, das BIO.NRW MEDICA-Forum, der BIO.NRW Gemeinschaftsstand auf der Greener Manufacturing Show und weitere Veranstaltungsangebote des thematischen Schwerpunktes BIO.NRW.eco tragen zum Ausbau des Netzwerks bei.

Zudem unterstützt BIO.NRW Unternehmen beim Zugang zu den internationalen Zielmärkten, wie beispielsweise in den USA und zukünftig auch in Singapur.

Im Rahmen der Clusteraktivitäten des Landes NRW wird BIO.NRW vom Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Industrie, Klimaschutz und Energie des Landes Nordrhein- Westfalen unterstützt.

BIO.NRW Establishes the Marketplace of Innovations

The industrial sector is facing enormous challenges as it has to reduce fossil fuels and establish circular processes, all the while remaining profitable. The Greener Manufacturing Show (GMS) sustainability event promises to address this issue and offers more than 250 enterprises from various branches of industry the opportunity to present their innovative solutions for resource-conserving manufacturing processes as well as sustainable products and services. On 8 and 9 November, more than 4,000 decision makers and enterprise representatives will come to the GMS in Cologne to discuss the topic of sustainability in industry.

BIO.NRW is the official event partner and its large theme world “Marketplace of Innovations” will provide visitors with the opportunity for networking and the exchanging of ideas. You can look forward to a variety of exhibiting enterprises, a diverse workshop programme, and the unique BioökonomieMOBIL tiny house, all of which will demonstrate what North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) has to offer in the fields of bioeconomy and biotechnology.
